Cold Snap

DESCRIPTION

This mod started as a class project during my final semester of my senior year at RIT, featuring all-new content not seen before in Rain World in the form of puzzles, a boss fight with dialogue, a new custom iterator, and a new type of ability as well as meltable ice blocks. As part of a team of 5 students, we developed this mod over the course of the semester spanning five months. My role during this project was to assist with the creation of several puzzle rooms and design rooms in-between the puzzles. I also was responsible for connecting each room so they could be properly navigated in game, as well as adding food, enemy spawns, and designated save rooms by modifying the files behind the scenes. I was also mainly responsible for all of the visual and environmental design of each room, and all level design or visual design was done through Rain World's community level editor as well as the dev tools within the game itself responsible for editing the settings files of each individual room. Special lighting effects, snow, ice blocks, etc. are all hand placed. I wanted to make sure I was creating a world that truly meshed with our mod's lore, and I made sure each room felt like a natural progression and not an afterthought.
